The design agent

What M1rror's in-app design agent does, how it uses your selection as context, how it is charged and what it is never allowed to do.

On this page

The design agent lives in the right-hand panel of every project. It works on what you have selected (a reference, a component, a screen or a state) and proposes changes you can accept or undo.

Open the agent

Select Ask in the top bar, or press ⌘ K (Ctrl K on Windows and Linux) anywhere in a project. The panel is titled Design agent. The composer reads Ask about your design…, or Ask about the selection… when something is selected, and the selection appears as context chips you can pin.

From the panel header you can also open Directions (generate two design directions to compare) and Your agent (connect a coding agent you already use).

What it can do

  • Explain and change parts of your design system and screens, within your role's permissions.
  • Draft a screen state that isn't designed yet. Agent-drawn work is badged Agent draft until you select Accept or Undo.
  • Fix issues raised in comments: Ask the agent to fix this on a comment opens the agent with that comment as context. Only a person can resolve the thread.

How it is charged

The agent spends usage units. Small requests run straight away, up to your workspace's auto-approve limit, which is 5 units per message unless someone with billing permission changes it (0 means "always ask", the maximum is 50). The composer shows the current setting, for example Runs on its own up to 5 units.

Anything bigger shows a quote first, such as About 8–12 units, with Approve, Change plan and Cancel. Approving reserves the top of the quote; you are charged only what the work used, and the rest is returned. If a run would need more than you approved, it pauses and asks.

What it never does

The agent works within the same permission checks as you, and some decisions are always human-only: approving a release, authorising a build, opening a pull request, changing billing, security, members or integrations, and deleting things.
